But WHY?

Did you know there’s no such thing as ‘Deep Tissue Massage?’ It is a catchall phrase, being used for everything from MyoFascial work (which itself is varied), to NeuroMuscular, to Swedish Massage with firm pressure. There is a world of difference between deep tissues and deep pressure!

Have you been getting massage forever, but still have the same “knots?” Did you know that your nervous system plays a critical role in how “tight” you are? “All muscle activities are under the exquisite control of the nervous system. Neural control regulates concentric, eccentric and isometric contractions, muscle fiber recruitment, and muscle tone.” (From an Anatomy & Physiology textbook.)

That’s a fancy way of saying - If you’re not relaxed, we’re not doing your tissues any good!

Total Body Restore attempts to take the body and mind into a deep state of relaxation - please it note it make take a couple of sessions to get there! Using visualization, breath, and meditation, we access profound relaxation and communicate safety and security to the nervous system, allowing it to release long held tension and pain patterns in soft tissues.

Continued practices of mindfulness, breathwork, visualization, mediation, and postural awareness, are encouraged outside the massage room, to further the benefits of treatment.

What others are saying:

  • “I LOVED the Total Body Zen treatment! I came away incredibly relaxed, even the next day... I usually like deep tissue massage that really digs in, but this was surprisingly so much more effective in releasing long-held tension. This is my new favorite massage!” -MW, Gig Harbor

  • "The most amazing experience... wonderful and I highly recommend it... but I want you to experience it yourself! You will love it.” MC, Gig Harbor
